Vehicle Types Used In A Dirt Track Racing

By Ronald Martin

Track racing, a unique kind of auto racing performed in tracks that are shaped like an oval and surfaces are made of dirt or clay. Stock cars and open wheel racers are the 2 very common types of vehicle used. Stock cars are built for the purposes of both racing and street vehicle purpose while open wheels are built only for racing. Their purposes are highly dependent on usage degree.

Each race track or each of the sponsoring organization has own rules and regulations written in rule books that outline the many variations of race cars. These rules may include the prohibitions, equipment requirements, engine size, and dimensions. The requirements are usually correlated in multiple tracks in order to allow widest venues for each car for the dirt track racing Arkansas. This coordination can also allow the drivers for competing in many racetracks, letting the associations develop many series of events in order to promote fan interests, and increasing a competitors chance to win.

The two kinds of vehicles range from small to large engines. Some vehicles, depending on its type, are placed with wings for aiding its handling, especially in higher speeds. Generally, open wheels are manufactured having tubular frames, bodies are purchased specifically for this class. Wheels are open and are not secured with fenders.

A modified car is a hybrid type of an open wheel. Characteristics of this are very similar to a stock car. Rear wheels are protected with a covering while front wheels remain open. Sanctioning bodies are controlling this class along with some specifications of most tracks. Each of the body also has own regulations and registration fees.

Full bodied car is also called as stock car and its wheels are being covered by the fenders. General types would include the non production cars. Most often, these are consist of tubular frames that are welded and consist of purchased and customized bodies. Late models are the subtypes and are being categorized according to the track and the series of run.

A late model is currently the dirt super feature made from tube frames chassis of steel and aluminum bodies. These features give it a more similar appearance to stock cars. These are considered as very sophisticated when it comes to dirt racing. These are raced in different tracks having one fourth up to one mile.

Rules in a limited late model are very similar to the late model and it differs only to motor rules. The engine limitations include the compression ratios, displacement size of engine, carburetor size, and cylinder head angle. Suspension rules are provided for forbidding the use of canister shocks that are expensive. Choices of a tire also are limited.

The late model stock is the same as super and limited late models when it comes to the body rule. This has more engine rules that are limited. The crate late models are making use of engines with special tags. Some parts which are sealed with the tags are oil pan, front cover, cylinder head, and intake manifold. Specifications of engines are not allowed to be altered and modified.

There are types of car that have been modified manufactured. The highest division of modified cars production may only have a very few original parts. Mostly, the glass windshields are removed and the interiors are stripped out. These are also used with full exhaust systems.
