Archery is an extremely underrated one. It is not covered enough in media, especially in Western settings. People from the West gravitate more towards popular sports such as football, hockey, and basketball. As a result, you can rarely find a place for you to train in this specific sport.

Going back to its history, this is actually one of the oldest arts that is still practiced today. It was used by the people from the old age to hunt animals that are far away for food. It was also used for warfare since its early stages. The earliest known use for archery were from the ancient Egyptians, but it probably was used even during the Stone Age.

Its popularity has drastically decreased from when it first started. Now that we have more modern ways of hunting and killing, we often forget about the bow and arrow. Its popularity is evident with the number of appearances it has made in folklore and ballads.

Now that you are convinced, the next step is to know what you will be needing. For starters, you need enough arrows, your very own bow, and of course, a target. That is pretty self explanatory.

There are many types of arrows to choose from. Each type presents a different sort of advantage from the other. For example, carbon arrows are very light, meaning they are good for those with a weak build because they are incredibly easy to carry and control.

To go even further, you must learn the parts of an arrow. There only are five. They are the knock, fletching, shaft, index fletching, and its tip.

Train hard. Acquire enough knowledge and skills before you invest. This way, you are sure to excel in your chosen sport.
