Why Joining Various Art Contests Help You

By Linda Evans

Joining some art competitions will absolutely give you tons of advantages and privileges. Just imagine, you would be competing with tons of professionals and amateurs. If you like the market and the public to recognize your existence, joining to various competitions would surely give you that kind of exposure. Better value that experience.

Even if some of your artworks and paintings are selling, it does not greatly signify that you are one of the greatest. First of all, you need to create a name in this industry. Surely, as someone who has a heart of an artisan, joining different art contests will absolutely trigger your excitement. That is nothing new, though. After all, it is part of your blood and instincts. Most artisans might hate facing other people. Most of them are introverts as you can see. They find it hard to communicate with other people.

Despite that, though, if you talk about competitions, most of them would surely be up for the challenge. They love to show their pride and only asset. That only shows how much they love their crafts. As you join several contests, expect that you will be facing those types of individuals. Just like you, they hate to lose.

Amateurs or not, expect that they will show you something unique and entertaining. For you to become a respected artist in this industry, make sure to respect your enemies and fellow artisan. To show your respect, try to understand their strengths and weaknesses. You might lose in this competition. However, that is completely alright.

That is pretty possible. Use your head then. Try to brainstorm. You cannot just gather the right ideas right away. If possible, explore the outside world while thinking. Doing this would really help your brain. You must never limit your own capability and abilities by producing the same result. As an artisan, you should grow too.

Their presence can be a huge threat to your existence. That is true, especially, if you would allow yourself to be left behind. It is alright to adapt. There is nothing wrong for you to add something new to your technique. Sticking to the traditional way would never be wrong. After all, in this field, everyone has the freedom to express their own ideas and techniques.

As an artist, you have the ability and the power to improve. Before getting to that level, though, you need a huge experience. Whether this is your first time joining a contest or not, you better try it. It would never harm you. Win or loss, assure that the experience you would get there would absolutely teach you tons of things.

Use this event to hone your skills. Remember, you will be meeting with veterans and amateurs. If it is your main dream to stand on top of the artisan world, you must learn how to overcome these people. They are your walls. Their talents and their abilities would highly prevent you from moving forward. Instead of running away, look for ways to break them through.

Never take that in a negative way. At the end, competitions would stay as competitions. Win or loss, the most important thing is, you learn something from joining these events. Speaking of learning, see if you could decipher the main reason why you lost. Watch the work of your fellow artisans. Using it, try to check your weaknesses and even your assets.
