By Lisa Wagner

Some people love cats, others prefer dogs. They say the difference between cats and dogs is that dogs are eager to serve, while cats expect to be served. It's not exactly so, but the fact is that cats are sometimes moody and not really interested in chasing balls or respecting your schedule. Well, Siberian cats are entirely different. They are polite, friendly and playful, just perfect family pets. It might not be so easy to find one Siberian kitten for sale, but it's definitely worth of effort.

By their size medium to large, Siberians are extremely friendly, gentle and playful. They behave nicely and really polite, but will gladly chase a ball or play fetch. They stay kittens for long. Siberian cat is fully adult at the age of five, which is really unusual for a cat. And you will most certainly fall in love in those lovely large, soft paws.

Although they are also unusually healthy, you should still ask your breeder for a health certificate, just to make sure all ancestors were perfectly healthy and without traces of genetic diseases. Siberian's life expectancy is maybe 15 years, but some live much longer. Good quality food and both mental and physical activities have something to do with it.

There is another thing all Siberians usually love, and that is watching the world from above. There is something especially interesting in climbing on the tree or on some other high place and observing everything from there. These lovely animals will really enjoy spending their time in your garden, if you have one. If not, give them something to climb on.

When it comes to their appearance, Siberians are really attractive. They come in different colors, for example cinnamon, chocolate, caramel, bicolor, Tabby, or color pointed. Their eyes may also be in different colors, but color pointed variety should always have blue eyes. Different shades and combinations are possible, and all are really lovely.

Their food has to be served two or three times a day, but always at the same time. They really appreciate schedule, and this is also quite important for their digestion. They need to be supplied with fresh water as well. Your new kitten should get the same food he used to get while he was still in the home of the breeder. In time, you might decide to change the food, but you have to do this gradually.

Considering the fact their hair is long and thick, it should be brushed daily. It is prone to tangling, and it sheds. Twice a year, Siberians change their coats, and in these periods it is even more important to brush them regularly. On the other hand, regular brushing will also ease your home maintenance.

They look impressive, but they also sound impressive. Characteristic purr is something you will be surprised to hear. Everything about these animals is interesting, their character, their looks and their behavior. If you are still not convinced, find a good breeder of Siberians and have a look at these beautiful cats. A little adoring kitten is just the right thing for you.
